Hey Mr. Norfleet, i though i would just check in and see how things have been going with you and congradulate you on getting yur music to iTunes. I recieved the email about you getting yur music onto iTunes and thats what has prompted this email. I have been working with a Musician/songwriter for about a year on and off because he lives in Massacusets and we record everychance he has to come down here. Hes not just an average guy who just writes rock or somthing but is a very diverse musician and we have been trying to get his music out to the masses in the most efficient way possible. To go back to the point of his not being just some average musician i can point out that I have worked with him on engineering and recording the entire musical score for a play in Chicago called Dante Dies (a comedy based off of the not so comical "dantes Inferno"). The record that i helped engineer and record was actually sent to an executive in Capital records in New York. We recieved great feadback from Capitol and a few indirect compliments but nothing has continued in that dirrection. I appologize for the excessive detail but i felt i needed to portray him as a credible musican and songwriter, not just some guy playing cowboy chords trying to get a record deal. To get the the point, i would love to find out how u were able to get your music onto itunes because from my research and attempts it is no easy proccess. I understand there isnt a simple answer to this question but if u could possibly even steer me in the right dirrection that would be incredibly helpful. I hope all is going well with you and I look forward to the next time i can catch one of your shows. thanks again,
-Michael Brady

hey there again,

i apologize if this is a little over-the-top, but you happen to have a score for sale for any of your idle hand pieces. i played your DWBB album for them and they would love to play "Have a Little Faith in Me" i understand if you dont want to dish out your written music, but if you do have a score for sale i would be more than happy to purchase it.
thanks again Stephen

Hey Stephen, I hope things have been going well since the last time we saw eachother. I just wanted to thank you again for by far one of the most memorable experiences of my life. It was soo amazing to get the chance to perform with you, chris, greg, and emerie.(sorry about the spelling of his name). I had such an awesome time performing and didnt think i gave you the proper thank you. Its very rare that any jazzer like me gets the chance to play with musicians of yur calliber. To my suprise, my girlfriend got us tickets to your show so im going to be heading up to charlottsville and see you perform on May 24th. Again, i hope all is going well and ill talk to you later

Hi Stephen,

Greetings from Skopje, Macedonia. You don’t get much mail from here, do you? I have a weekly jazz radio programme JAZZ SPACES on National FM Radio and would be interested to present some of your recent material to music lovers in this part of Europe. Radio playlists would be supplied, so if interested, drop me a line.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,

Dear Mr. Norfleet:

I'm trying to get in touch with Valerie Ponomarev and came across your website, which notes that you performed in his big band in 2005. Would you happen to have any current contact info for Valerie? I'm attempting to track down some info on a record he played on called "Ululation" with the late sax player John Lee Krasnow. Thanks very much for any assistance you can offer. -Chris

Steve, glad to see that you are doing great, love the music. Do you ever perform near Charlotte, North Carolina or do I need to go to Charlottsville to hear you?

Hi,

I saw your name on the C'ville Jazz Society education page. I've played the saxophone (alto/tenor/bari) for 10 years (I'm 22) but feel like I've never had any real decent training. Can you give me an idea of your style of teaching, what kind of things you focus on, etc? I'm really just in the beginning stages of looking around the area for a teacher, so it would be cool just to get a general overview of what lessons with you would be like.

Thanks!!

Hello Stephen,

I have a (charlottesville) teacher to teacher question to ask you: I am a clarinetist here in C-ville with a significant minority of sax students in my studio. As this year progresses I will be graduating these students off to teachers as yourself...I was wondering essentially two questions: what age/experience levels do you take, and at capacity is your studio?

Since I am no longer taking sax students, I have just given your contact infomation to one mother of a beginning student from Henley MS (Gary Fagan's program).

Any information that you can give me would help greatly as I begin to help these students move on in the apropriate direction.

James Tobin

PS...great website!

this is a snazzy new site you've got set up here! i dig it. and was chomping at the bit to tell you so. the music sounds fantastic with this color scheme as backdrop. it's like the visuals and the audio have gotten together for a coffee and decided to while away the afternoon together.

God, Stephen, you ROCK!!!! You are the hottest jazz artist to grace our lovely Charlottesville in the 9 years I've been here and that includes some greats like David Sanborn. Your music is so personal, so soulful and soooo alive. It talks to us in deep, richly penetrating tones. Truly an inspirational performer. How lucky Sky is to have you as his teacher. Thank you so much! We love you!

Hey Steve,

Thanks for sharing your website. Your music is incredible! It's very refreshing to hear some "real jazz", especially on a local level. I will definitely catch a gig sometime soon! (Felinni's is a bit past my bedtime though! HA!) Any plans for playing in the Pavilion this summer?

Peace,

Amy

I was at the concert you gave yesterday (Friday) at Steward School. I must say that band sounded amazing!!!! Some of the songs you all played are the same ones our band plays (I play the violin. I think you subbed for our class a while ago). It was amazing to hear those songs played how they are supposed to be played as opposed to hearing our band play it. I hope we get to hear you all play again!
